Timeshare Company Favors Mailroom Toolkit as First Resort
Pacific Monarch Resorts (PMR) is a timeshare company located in Laguna Hills, California,
serving more than 70,000 vacation resort owners. Every month, PMR mails more than
100,000 loan statements, reservation notices, homeowner bills and other information
to its growing customer base and counts on Satori Software MailRoom ToolKit Office
to do the task.
Years ago, when the company shopped around for bulk mailing software, they knew
they needed a program that would make it easy for them to do their mailings. They
started with Pitney Bowes SmartMailer but over time encountered several difficulties
when using the product. Susan Anderson, Loan Service Assistant Manager of PMR, explains
some of the problems.
"Whenever we tried to print our pieces, we could never get the data to stay in the
right place. It was always jumping all over the piece and it was really frustrating,"
Susan says. "We didn't like SmartMailer and we wanted to try something else."
In 2002, when PMR underwent a computer system upgrade, they decided to try MailRoom
ToolKit Office. Susan says switching to MailRoom ToolKit made the mailing process
much smoother and trouble-free.
"In SmartMailer, we found it very hard to manipulate the data and the product wasn't
very user friendly," Susan says. "In MailRoom ToolKit, everything is done step-by-step
and the processes are really easy to follow," Susan says. "Its simplicity alone
makes it a great product."
Susan simply opens a Microsoft Access database, runs address correction and presort
setup, and then exports her records to a text file. Next she runs a mail merge by
importing the text file into a preconfigured Microsoft Word document and prints
out her mail pieces.
"In MailRoom ToolKit, everything is done step-by-step and the processes are really
easy to follow. Its simplicity alone makes it a great product."
